Tom Soo is the Executive Director of the International Association of Hydro-Environmental Engineering and Research (IAHR). He has extensive global experience in leadership, institutional development, and in providing technical and management expertise. He has been Executive Director of IWRA and of the World Water Council and has a background in consulting to international institutions, public authorities, academia, as well as private industry. Tom’s current focus areas include climate change adaptation and mitigation, water and energy transition, food security and nature; resilience against water hazards and disasters, digital transformation; institutional arrangements; water education; water policy and governance; and building a platform for cities and authorities to interact with solution-oriented stakeholders. Over the years, Tom has participated in numerous international committees and task forces.  Currently he serves as a founding member of the Water Policy Group; board director at the International Water Resources Association; and chairs the International Advisory Committee of the UNSW Global Water Institute
