Madam Santisouk has 25 years’ experience on Power System, Transmission Line and Interconnection Planning. Her experience includes preparation of national energy policies and power development plans, working with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Master Planning for development of the Lao Power Network, as well as preparing long-term visions, strategies and plans for national power development planning for the energy sector.
Madam Santisouk is a member of the Working Group examining the power system, transmission lines and substations as inputs for the national Power Development Plan, as well as for alternative power generation and power trading markets. Within this role, her experience also includes inputs for social and economic development planning, reviewing planning documents for Lao PDR’s generation assets, transmission lines, substations and distribution networks.
She also has experience in demand forecasting as well as modelling for the Greater Mekong Subregion and ASEAN power grids.
Madam Santisouk is a keen advocate of sustainable development in the power sector including alleviating poverty in Lao PDR by using energy export revenue to help electrify underserved areas of Lao PDR. She has participated in numerous international electricity grid planning and operation forums.
