Rizal Calvary Marimbo, BA, MM, is the Director of Generation Management at PT PLN (Persero), responsible for strategic planning, operations, and optimisation of Indonesia’s power generation fleet in support of the national Net Zero Emission 2060 agenda.

He has extensive experience in both government and industry, having served as Special Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Special Advisor to the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM (2021–2024), and Commissioner of PT PLN Batam. His leadership background also includes roles as Executive Director and Spokesperson of the Indonesian Independent Power Producers Association (APLSI).

Holding a Master of Management and currently a Doctoral Candidate in Business Law at Universitas Pelita Harapan, Rizal brings deep expertise in energy policy, investment facilitation, and power sector regulation. He has been directly involved in advancing major renewable energy projects, from hydropower to solar and strategic national investments.

At the International Forum on Pumped Storage Hydropower, Rizal will share Indonesia’s vision for the development of pumped storage as a key enabler of renewable integration and grid reliability, highlighting its role in achieving Indonesia’s long-term decarbonisation and NZE 2060 goals.
