Rito Évora holds a degree in engineering from the Technical University of Belarus and an Interdisciplinary Master Degree in Energy from Institute of Energy and Environment of the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
He has more than 25 years of experience in the energy sector, working in the design, development and implementation of energy policies and regulatory models.
In 2004 he was appointed Director of Energy Service at the Ministry of Industry Trade and Energy and in 2007 as member of Executive Board of Director of the Independent Multisectoral Regulatory Agency regulating Energy, Water and collective Road and Maritime passenger transport of Cabo Verde.
As of August 2018, Rito Évora is National Director of Industry Trade and Energy in charge of the Industry, Trade and Energy Services of MICE.
He is also, since 2018, representing the State of Cabo Verde, as a non-executive member of the Board of Cabeólica, the main Independent Wind Power Producer and Storage Service Provider in operation in the country.
