Paula Rey García is Head of the Unit for Renewables and Energy System Integration Policy at the European Commission DG Energy. She joined the European Commission in 2005, with roles first in DG Environment, and later in DG Health and Food Safety. She works in DG Energy since 2012, having held positions in the areas of energy efficiency and financing, and as Deputy Head of unit for buildings and products, and subsequently as Deputy Head of Unit for renewables policy. Prior to joining the European Commission, she worked for the United Nations Environment Programme, and earlier on in the private sector as a consultant
