Kate is CEO of the British Hydropower Association and a leading advocate for hydropower, pumped storage hydropower, and tidal range as essential technologies in the UK’s energy transition. With a BSc in Fuel & Energy and an MSc in Renewable Energy, she brings deep expertise across all renewable technologies and a whole-system approach to achieving Net Zero.
She is a founder member and Director of Community Energy England, a Non-Executive Director of GB Energy advising on local energy, and a Non-Executive Director of Rossendale Valley Energy, a community benefit society spearheading the Net Zero Terrace Streets project.
Kate believes Net Zero is vital for cutting CO₂ emissions, enhancing UK energy security, reducing costs, and shielding households from price shocks. Drawing on years of leadership in the community energy sector, she champions strategies that combine national impact with tangible local benefits, ensuring all technologies play their role in a resilient, decarbonised grid.
