He joined Red Eléctrica (Power System Operator) where he was responsible for telecontrol, power system analysis and operation of the high voltage network. In 1998 he joined Iberdrola as analyst in the Strategic Planning Area. In 2001 he was appointed Gas Logistics and Grid Access Director, responsible for logistic system to guarantee the gas transportation (TPA, new regas terminals and pipelines) from delivery to Iberdrola until final customer, combine cycle o commercial client. Later he is appointed Gas Operation Director, responsible for trading, risk management, logistics and access to gas networks. From 2014 to 2018 he was the Global Director of Regulation in Iberdrola Group. He has been member of the Board of Directors of Iberdrola Energy Holdings (USA) and Medgaz. He has been Chairman of Enstor (USA) and Iberdrola Canada Energy Services. He is the chairman of the Board of Ekienea and Aixeindar and member of the Board of Iberdrola Renovables Internacional. He has been the vice-president of the Spanish Gas Associtation SEDIGAS, chairman of the committee of Distributors of EURELECTRIC; member of the Management Committee of AELEC. He has been associate professor in the business school of the University of Antonio de Nebrija. Conferences and sector forums. He has been the CEO of Iberdrola Renovables Energía, head of business company of the renewables business in Spain. He is also responsible for Renewables in Portugal and Italy.
