James Steven is the Chief Executive Officer of Preformed Windings, a global leader in coil and bar manufacturing  for hydroelectric generators and motors.

He brings over 20 years of experience in the hydropower and electrical engineering sectors, with a career spanning engineering, innovation, manufacturing, and international operations across more than 30 countries. Under his leadership, Preformed Windings has advanced high-efficiency coil and bar technologies and contributed to major hydropower modernisation projects worldwide.

James has served on several industry boards, advocating for sustainable practices and cross-sector collaboration within the renewable energy space. He is recognised for his strategic vision, technical expertise, and commitment to driving modernisation within the hydropower value chain.

A long-standing champion of renewable energy, James is speaking at the Congress to share insights on the role of innovation in boosting the performance and longevity of hydropower assets, and to help shape the future direction of the sector through collective action and partnerships.
