Mr. Eakarat Samintarapanya is the Assistant Governor of Power Plant Planning at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). He is responsible for proposing new power plants to ensure the security and reliability of the national grid, including the introduction of advanced solutions such as pumped storage hydropower to enhance grid stability and support the integration of increasing shares of renewable energy.
With more than 30 years of distinguished experiences at EGAT, he has extensive expertise in planning, engineering, and constructing various types of power plants, including Combined Cycle, Thermal, Hydro, and Renewable Energy projects. He also holds advanced degrees in engineering management, providing a strong foundation for leading complex power development initiatives.
Mr. Eakarat has been invited to speak at the Congress to share Thailand’s development of pumped storage hydropower projects as a key solution for renewable integration, energy security, and the transition toward a low-carbon future.
