Quanwei Liang, Ph.D., Chief Engineer & Vice President of Dongfang Electric Machinery Co., Ltd., is the recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance.  

He has long been engaged in scientific research and development of critical power generation equipment, including large hydro-generating units, large pumps, pumped storage units and high-head high-capacity pelton turbines, having overcome a series of critical bottleneck technical challenges. He has undertaken major national-level and provincial/ministerial-level scientific and technological projects; published over 50 academic papers (18 indexed by SCI); been granted 36 patents (including 18 invention patents) and 3 software copyrights; and received 9 scientific awards from provincial/ministerial authorities and industrial associations.  

Benefiting from the rapid development of China's pumped storage industry, he has spearheaded the R&D of 184 pumped storage units and pioneered key technologies for the innovative new generation of five characteristics: safe and reliable, high efficiency, flexible, environmental-friendly, digital intelligence pumped storage units.  

Through his presentation at the Paris international forum, he looks forward to sharing China's advances in pumped storage technology with the global community and showcasing leading core innovations in the field of pumped storage.
