Alexander Schwab is Senior Vice President and Chief Market Officer at ANDRITZ HYDRO GmbH, headquartered in Vienna 

With over 45 years of experience in the hydropower industry, he has held senior roles in sales and management across nearly all global regions 

He is a recognised figure in international hydropower circles, actively representing ANDRITZ and the industry in key global organisations focused on sustainable development and in national and international trade organisations or forums. He also serves as a member of the Business Advisory Group of the Global Gateway Forum, European Commission.

As an electrical engineer, his contributions span technical advocacy, policy consultation, and global modernisation efforts, and he is deeply involved in strategic initiatives such as the Hydropower Sustainability Alliance, where he is a member of the Industry Chamber.

He is known for his commitment to advancing sustainable hydropower and has played a pivotal role in shaping ANDRITZ’s engagement with the International Hydropower Association (IHA), including support for initiatives like the San José Declaration and the recent Paris Pledge on Pumped Storage Hydropower.
